Long basis, dual channel rail surface measuring device

Welded joints used to connect the units of various steel structures during manufacturing and assembling may often lead to geometry of the structure different from the designed one. Continuous welded rail tracks are such type of steel structures. The device is suitable for measurement of straightness of both the running and directing surface of different type railway rails with great accuracy even on a 50m long basis.

The laser unit provides the basis laser light that marks out a line over the surface to be measured. The sensor unit follows unevenness of the rail running and directing surfaces while the laser light that provides the measurement basis shifts on the sensor screen of the device. Meanwhile longitudinal displacement of the measuring unit is stored with help of a rotary optical encoder.
